last time i saw jonas

he said something to me which i did not understand, but i was on my way out anyway, so i just smiled and said "ok jonas!". and then, one time i saw him at 3 o clock in the afternoon at the mars bar having a whisky (as was i). i was shopping around for filmstock on my cellphone and had my bolex with me. this seemed normal to me, but jonas must have thought it was crazy, because he said "you seem a little crazy... you stay crazy, stay that way". that was some good advice coming from someone as addicted to his bolex as i am.

    eh, he's not all that

I had to sit through his lame home movies of the Kennedys. Talk about members of the privileged upper class. That's an hour of my life I'll never get back. More importantly, it's an hour that could have been devoted to good art, maybe some unknown or emerging artists? Just an idea.

last time I saw Jonas (also at the Mars Bar...think I was drinking a beer, though...) was after finally having gotten hired as a projectionist at Anthology and then having to move 2 weeks later. I remember his brother, Adolfas, much better - I studied film under him at Bard. The best class was silent comedy, where the only homework was bringing beer. Oh - and the time when he brought Sidney Peterson in for a talk and both were so loaded that SP fell off the podium in mid-lecture.
